"I'm Totally Broke!... How Can I Promote?"

This issue's Q&A is a problem that most new and beginning marketers face when they first arrive on the Net and want to start their own business... or even promote someone else's products through affiliate programs.

 

Hi Sam, 

I'm kinda embarrassed to even ask this question, but here it goes. I'm pretty much broke. I am also disabled, so I want to work at home. I've got a few ideas and my brother and I went in "halves" with your reporter program and we ARE going to make this work.

Everything is great. I have no complaints. But I also don't know how to promote this new business because I don't have much money. What's the best way to promote a business online if you've only got a couple bucks in your wallet?

First thing is, no need to be embarrassed. Not everyone was born with a fat bank account. My first businesses were started on borrowed money because I didn't even have a couple bucks in my wallet.

Anyway, don't let it discourage you (as hard as that may be at times).

You've got MANY options. You can do search engines... that doesn't cost much, if anything. But it does take time. And when you are broke, you need money TODAY, not 2 months from now.

Using the TRUE POWER of E-Book Marketing, Yanik set up the very necessary "Viral Marketing" aspect of allowing ANYONE who paid for a copy of Autoresponder Magic (which he sells for a very low $17.00) to have royalty-free resell rights to that E-Book.

To create a "front-end offer" for your business, which then leads to the "up-sell" of your products or services.

And what BETTER WAY to explain all of this than to brake down EXACTLY what Yanik did to achieve the success stated above, and analyze how YOU can benefit from the EXACT SAME selling and marketing system.

Step One:  Creating Your E-Book

Obviously, your first step towards utilizing this marketing system is to create your E-Book.  While there are several factors that you truly need to understand to get the most out of what this marketing system offers you, what I'd like to explain are the concepts you need to focus on to make this work for YOU.

First and foremost you need to select the topic of your E-Book.  This is as easy as selecting an offer that you'd like to promote.  Just as Yanik decided he would like to promote autoresponder services, you must select an offer that you feel is worth your time and energy.

Editor's Note: While I wouldn't recommend you do exactly as Yanik has, be smart as he was and try to focus your energy on an offer that will pay you on a residual basis.  Things such as Web Hosting, Autoresponder Services, Tracking Systems and anything else you can imagine that requires a subscription fee to use is a PERFECT offer to promote through the use of E-Book Marketing.

In fact, we've created you a list of free affiliate programs you can join that will pay you residually.

Once you've selected an offer you feel you can comfortably explain to others, your next step is to educate those who will be reading your E-Book as to HOW and WHY the offer you're promoting is worth their TIME, MONEY and ENERGY.

Just as Yanik took the concept stated above and uses it to EDUCATE the readers of Autoresponder Magic as to HOW and WHY the use of autoresponders in their marketing is worth their TIME, MONEY and ENERGY, you MUST ALSO create a compelling case as to HOW and WHY your offer is worth your prospects overall interest.

Editor's Note: To hammer home this point, do you suppose that if Yanik shows you how to make MORE PROFITS with the use of autoresponders, that YOU would be MORE INCLINED to investigate the services that he recommends?  You're answer says it all. (You did answer YES, didn't you?...)

Now, AS you're instilling the education need to explain HOW and WHY your offer is OF BENEFIT to the reader, you must THEN take the opportunity of having your reader's attention to TIE IN your offer.  AFTER you have educated the reader, simply make a short and subtle statement such as:

"If you wanted to promote your site through the BLAH method I just described about, then one great service is offered by XYZ company. You can read more information by visiting their site at www.xyz.com/?12345 [your affiliate ID would go here]"

While the above might not be some "super duper" awesome ad, it's still VERY effective simply because it's subtle and you have already built the credibility of such a service by FIRST educating them throughout your ebook!

As stated many times, you FIRST build credibility by educating, THEN you promote with a solution (which will be a product or affiliate program to which you will make money from).

Step Two:  Launching Your E-Book

Once you've created an E-Book you feel suits the offer you've elected to promote, which firstly EDUCATES its readers as to HOW and WHY your offer is OF BENEFIT to THEM, and you've successfully tied in your offer, you must then create the initial awareness for your book.

There are literally hundreds of methods of doing this, from running ezine ads, to writing and submitting articles that plug your new book, to placing response driven sig files at the bottom of every email you send out.  Of this, the MOST EFFECTIVE method of launching your book is to announce it to either your current customer list, your ezine/newsletter list, or both.

Following this EXACT guideline (along with including a note to all of his affiliates), Yanik was able pull in an almost instant response to his brand new offer.  Better still, as I'll discuss below, this is ALL it took to set the Internet on fire with Yanik's new offer.

Why?

Because with the use of E-Book Marketing comes one very appealing FACT, all you have to do is get the downloads STARTED!  If you've done your job correctly, being sure that the book can very much stand on its own as well as promote your offers, and by utilizing the concept of Viral Marketing.... Once your book gains even the smallest initial attraction, it can go VIRAL with your marketing message!  Which means, once again, all you have to do is get the downloads STARTED.

A quick note to your current or potential customer list, running an ezine ad, advertising your E-Book within your sig file are all "little things" that you can use to get that initial crazy going.  After that, your marketing message could very easily end up on complete auto-pilot as more and more people pass on your book to others they know and trust.

Step Three:  Multiplying Your E-Book

The final step in making this marketing system work for you is to add some form of "viral marketing appeal" to your book. That is, creating a system in which your book can become it's own best salesman and encourage others interested in its topic to pass it on to others they know and trust.

There are several methods of doing this, including ...

Allowing your reader to recommend it to a friend.
Allowing your reader to offer it as content on their site.
Allowing your reader to offer it as content within their for-sale packages.
Allowing your reader full and royalty-free resell rights.

... just to name a few.  And IF you decide to take advantage of this, you might just find that many of your readers WILL follow your suggestion, which means that your E-Book could spread, and spread, and spread, and spread, and spread, and spread, and spread, and spread, and spread.

And to prove its power, taking from the idea of "allowing your reader full and royalty-free resell rights," Yanik was able to generate "a mass hysteria" for Autoresponder Magic by allowing anyone who bought a copy of his book, either from HIS Web site or from anyone else reselling the book, to offer it on THEIR SITE using the exact same sales letter, etc., to sell it for their own personal profits.

All in all, this has to be the most exciting method of marketing your offers ANYWHERE online.  It truly provides you with an "automated system" of allowing YOUR marketing message to multiply upon itself to numbers you couldn't even dream of unless you saw it with your own eyes!

While this report is just the very essence of what's truly involved to make this marketing system work for YOU, it should give you the beginning steps of understanding need to truly succeed with this marketing system.
