Dear
Sam,
A couple weeks ago you had sent me a letter asking for a 'testimonial'
for your advertising services. You started your letter by introducing yourself and your background
work for Xerox and asked if I "still remember" who you were.
The funny thing is I remember exactly who you are and what you
did for my team (how can I forget, your tactics got me and my staff a free vacation to the Bahamas!).
Almost five years ago you helped our ****** ****** Sales team
make over $400,000 in net profits within 72 hours!
We already had an entire advertising agency working full time for
us, but we needed a change or something new because sales were sluggish and we had to meet our
fourth quarter "quota" to finish off the year strongly.
You came highly recommended from one of my colleagues, so I decided
to take a chance and hire an "outsider" to help out. It was one of the best business
decisions I've ever made (your $50,000 fee was well spent)!
You completely redesigned two of our sales materials that we had
been using in the past and the results were absolutely amazing! The previous year we had sent
out the same amount of literature to our customer base and it only yielded us a net profit of
$180,000 in about 5 days (which was about $15K better than the year before, so it's actually not
that bad).
Your advertising expertise more than doubled our profits in
almost half the time! We've been using your templates ever since with great success.
I wish the rest of Xerox sales departments would also utilize such
tactics, but this is out of my control. I can almost guarantee that most corporations fail to
use "direct advertising" to help advance their sales to the next level.
I hope that your customers will not make the same mistake.
Thankfully Yours,
Ruth ******

P.S. I'm not sure exactly what you had in mind as a testimonial,
but feel free to cut and paste any of the above to fit your needs (it seems a bit too long, but
I said what was on my mind and I hope that's all you wanted). I wish you the best of luck Sam!
